Dr. Anthony Alessi was born and raised in Michigan. He graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1987, he received his doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. While attending O.C.P.M. he received honors in the Pi-Delta National Podiatric Honor Society for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Alessi completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center from 1987-1988. During this time, Dr. Alessi also simultaneously completed a rotating residency in Podiatric Surgery from Botsford General Hospital.
Dr. Anthony Alessi and his wife, Dr. Lauren Alessi PhD, established Petoskey Family Foot Care and Petoskey Family Counseling in 1989. Dr. Alessi is board certified in podiatric medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. Dr. Alessi is on staff at Mclaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. He is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Anthony Alessi participated in intercollegiate cross-country while in college. In addition, he competed in the prestigious Hawaiian Ironman World Triathlon Championship three times. He and his wife, Lauren have been blessed with two wonderful children, Kaitlyn and Kurtis. Their family is a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, and they reside in the Little Traverse area. His family occupies most of his time away from the office. He helps in his children's various school, athletic and musical endeavors. Dr. Alessi enjoys outdoor activities with his family, sailing, woodworking and photography.
